Week 3. Images 1-5.

"Overthinking Introvert Regrets Going Outside".

About the story: This story isn't actually mine. It happened to my friend, and I was the girl on the bus. Our group of friends had decided to go out to the city that day, it was around 8:15 am, a particular early morning for this 'Overthinking Introvert'. Apparently he had a big night before, and was dozing off whilst waiting for the bus. Next thing you know, the bus goes right past him, and he runs as soon as he notices. However, he claims to have 'tripped on an unlucky rock' and swears that a bird saw him land on his face too. That day was so unlucky that his headphones broke after the fall. 

The last image is the same, but just drawn over in fine line marker. The Adobe Scan app couldn't pick up on some details of the images, so I decided to go over it in marker. Although better for viewing, I realised that using the marker loses a lot of shading and tone. 

Technique:

2B Pencil + Fine line marker. 

Process: I first did this sketch in pencil, laying out the sections that I wanted. I wanted to add different shots, up-close, far, and wide. As I hoped this helped to visualise the story better.

Reflection: Using a darker pencil next time might be better, as the 2B was not dark enough captured. 

Main Strength: The text is visible and the micro expressions are shown well. 

Main Challenge: The wide shot where he slowly falls was very hard to draw. I had wanted to draw all the details of the person's clothing but decided that the shape of his body was efficient in conveying the message.
